I have worked with Doug over the past three years at Hill Country Stringworks. We’ve known each other over twelve years. We play together as members of our church’s Praise Team and host a weekly jam too.
I worked at a local Hospital eighteen years. I drew a weekly cartoon for their newsletter. The past seven years I draw a weekly cartoon for local newspaper.
Doug had the idea I could combine my music interest and artistic ability to help out in the shop. He taught me to do inlays. It’s very rewarding work and I constantly learn new techniques as I build my skill.
I feel no one can be more blessed than to see how God is true to his word in bringing good to us through the talent and skills he has given us. I’ve learned to be grateful for the broken roads and closed doors that have led me to the creative place I’m in today. I believe all of it is possible only by faith in him and through the blood sacrifice of Jesus. So whenever I get a little proud of a particular inlay or any piece of work, I’m reminded of my favorite bible verse.
“Not that we are to consider anything as coming from ourselves but our adequacy come from God” II Corinthians 3: 5
