I had a request to make
some stick-on armrests
for a guitar.
These are my
prototypes on my
guitars. They are
Brazilian Rosewood and
"McClung" style. Prices
vary from $35 - $39.
Most styles will fit close or up against the tailpiece.
I do a lot of custom work.
Let me know if you have an idea or color in mind.
The customer photo page shows a bunch of stuff
customers have ordered just for them.
A new concept in the armrest
design. These are angled, much
like the angle of the strings from
the tailpiece to the bridge. The
result is better hand position,
control, and comfort. I use a
variety of woods, dyes, and
shapes/sizes so most are unique
in appearance, but all have the
same function. These will work
left or right handed, but a closer
fit, to the tailpiece, for left hand
A nice selection of premade inlaid
armrests in the Standard or
McClung style. At present most are
in the McClung. Custom order
requests can be made by emailing
or just giving me a call.
I use precut as well as original
inlays using white, gold , black,
pink MOP and Paua Abalone. The
precut have the fastest turnaround
and are less expensive for custom
Currently we're going through a style
change on the Standard armrests.
Current production is shaped more
like the McClung, but without the
angle and rounded routing on the
front as in previous models. The front
edge is rounded for comfort, just less
prominent as in the past. Past models
will be replaced as the sell down.
Recently I built a Ukulele
McClung for a customer.
Here it is in KOA on my
own Martin saprano uke.
It uses the same viola hardware
as the mandolins, but with
longer barrels, 39 mm. It will fit
slightly over 2 3/8" deep
instruments. (special order)
